March 1, 2024, BROOMFIELD, CO & WHITE PLAINS, NY – Danone, an industry leader in the food and beverage category, is proud to announce that it has been named to the Forbes World’s Best Employers and World’s Top Companies for Women lists for 2023.  The prestigious awards complement Danone’s ongoing commitment to making the company an all-around great place to work.

As a people-centric company, employees – known as Danoners – are considered the company’s most important asset. The recognitions are a testament to Danone’s four Employer Value Proposition (EVP) pillars – A Great Place to Grow, People Centric, Make an Impact and Step Out of Your Job Description.

Danone strives to empower female employees to excel in all aspects of their lives. Company policies and programs support gender equality and a comprehensive benefits plan includes health programs for women at all stages of life – from childbirth through menopause. Additionally, our Employee Resource Group (ERG) LIFT — Leading & Inspiring Female Talent — exists to foster diversity and inclusion by creating an environment where women can flourish through inspiration and empowerment.

"Danone being recognized by Forbes is not just an achievement; it's a testament to our collective effort in championing women's empowerment within our company and beyond," co-leads Carla Baily and Amanda Bigart said in a joint statement. "As co-leads of LIFT, we're dedicated to lifting each other up, breaking barriers, and reshaping the narrative, amplifying Danone's efforts."

World’s Best Employer Methodology

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to create the 2023 World’s Best Employers list. The firm surveyed more than 170,000 employees working for multinational companies and institutions in 50-plus countries.

Respondents were asked whether they would recommend their company to family or friends. Working environment and hours, health benefits, opportunities for training and advancement, salary and workplace diversity were also rated.

The 700 global companies with the highest scores made the final list.

World’s Top Companies for Women Methodology

Statista surveyed approximately 70,000 women working for multinational corporations across 37 countries to create the World’s Top Companies for Women list. Participants rated their corporations on general workplace practices and gender-specific issues including gender pay equity, the management of employee discrimination cases, and whether men and women have the same opportunities for advancement. They were also asked if they would recommend their employer to friends or family.

Women’s ratings of other companies in their industries were also taken into consideration. Organizations were evaluated based on public image, including whether a company positions its services or products to actively fight against gender stereotypes, and whether it promotes gender equality through marketing campaigns and nonprofit initiatives. The companies with qualifying criteria were then assessed on the percentage of women in leadership positions.

The 400 global companies with the highest scores made the list.
