In September 2022, Danone was part of a team that was awarded a $70 million grant by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to help us, along with our partners, advance climate-smart agriculture.
Danone is a critical partner in the Transforming the Farmer to Consumer (F2C) project, which represents a pioneering collaboration between various industry partners led by Carbon A List. The project aims to establish end-to-end supply chain partnerships that assist farmers in producing climate-smart commodities that we can ultimately provide to consumers via our products. Danone’s involvement in this project underscores our commitment to sustainability, responsible sourcing and to addressing the pressure of climate change.
This project will help advance our work in regenerative agriculture, working together and supporting our farming partners. Specific projects include:
Reducing methane emissions for dairy through innovative manure management
Creating the infrastructure to sustainably grow and trace U.S. food-grade oats and soybeans
Building processing for traceable organic soy (dairy feed)
