Which Plan is Best for You?

When considering which plan is best for you and your family, review your past medical history to determine how much coverage you will need. Also, be sure to take advantage of our decision support tool within danonehealth.com for a guided recommendation as to which plan will best meet your needs based on prior claims history.

Pay Now or Pay Later

Keep in mind that you share in the cost of coverage in two ways: through payroll contributions and when you receive care. Think about when you want to pay for care: would you prefer to pay more out of your paycheck and less at the point of care, or less out of your paycheck and more if, and when, you need care? If you are considering one of the Cigna HDHPs, consider Danone's contribution funding into the HSA in your cost calculations.

*A tobacco surcharge will be added for tobacco users at a rate of $25 per month for Employee Only coverage and $50 per month for Employee + Dependent coverage.

Guiding Your Decision

You may consider the Cigna HDHP Savings or HDHP Plus Plans if:

  • You are generally healthy and don’t anticipate any serious medical care in the upcoming year.
  • You’d prefer to pay less out of your paycheck and more if and when you need to receive medical care.
  • You want the Danone contribution* to your HSA (HDHP Savings $500/$1,000; HDHP Plus $350/$700) to help pay your out-of-pocket healthcare expenses or save the funds in your account for future expenses.
  • You aren’t sure how much you’ll spend on healthcare in 2024, and the flexibility to save pre-tax dollars in an HSA and use them now or in the future is appealing.

*Pro-rated based on date of hire or eligibility date.

You may consider the Cigna Choice PPO or a Regional Plan, if available to you, if:

  • You want more predictable costs when it comes to your medical care, regardless of use.
  • You prefer to have lower out-of-pocket costs when receiving care, even if it means paying more out of your paycheck upfront.
  • You like the idea of setting aside pre-tax contributions in a Healthcare FSA  because you have a reasonable estimate of how much you will spend on healthcare in 2024.
  • You are comfortable having access to in-network providers only (applies to Kaiser and SelectHealth plans).
